*** Please read this notice about shipping charges and VAT if your delivery address is outside the U.K. ***
All prices on the Micron web site include VAT at 20%. When you add an item to the shopping cart, the price there is without VAT. For example, an item listed at £12.00 on the web site will be shown as £10.00 in the shopping cart. VAT is added, if required, at checkout when the delivery address is known.
We use the Paypal shopping cart to handle all online orders. This provides only a simple value-based method of determining postage charges. The postage charge is shown in the shopping cart without VAT. Some orders, containing only a few small items, cost less to post than the value-derived charge and we make a refund of the excess via Paypal. Alternatively, you can send us an email with a list of the parts you wish to order and we will create an invoice with the exact postage cost.
UK Orders
Our standard postage method for small packets sent to UK destinations is 1st class 'signed-for' (previously known as 'recorded') which currently costs £5.88 (£4.90 + VAT). Orders with a value over £75.00 will be sent using 'Special Delivery' and the post/packing charge is £10.20 (£8.50 + VAT). Orders with a value under £30.00 will be sent using standard 1st class and the post/packing charge is £4.68 (£3.90 + VAT). As described above, we make a refund if the shopping cart postage charge is considerably more than it actually costs to dispatch your order.
Adding VAT to postage seems grossly unfair but that is the HMRC rule.
International Orders
As we use currently use the basic Paypal shopping cart and their method of calculating post/packing charges, the UK rates are also applied to international orders. This mostly works OK but orders containing large and/or heavy items will almost always cost more to send, please see Shipping outside the U.K. for details.
International shipping can be very expensive when the size of the box exceeds the maximum for airmail (60cm length). In this case we will contact you to discuss shipping arrangements.
Methods of Ordering Goods
1st Email... give us your name, address, card number only and list of the item(s) you want. 2nd Email... give us your name and initials (as printed on your card), last 3 digits of the security number on the back of the card and the card expiry date - plus start date and/or issue number if it is a debit card.
Don't worry we will collate the two and sort your order!
